Testing
Two questions decide what a buyer trusts: what was measured on every metre, and what the document actually states.
On every metre
| Property | Method | Resolution | Recorded |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diameter | In-line laser micrometer | 0.001 mm | Recorded against the spool |
| Surface | Eddy current | Full length | Rejects flagged before packing |
| Continuity | Resistance check | Per spool | Short or open found before shipment |
Once per lot
| Property | Method | Applies to | Included |
|---|---|---|---|
| EMF | Against the reference table | Thermocouple grades | On request |
| Resistivity | Four-terminal | Thermocouple and resistance wire | Standard |
| Tensile and elongation | Per leg or per grade | All | Standard |
| Composition | Melt analysis | All | Standard on 3.1 |
| Cladding ratio | Cross-section and conductivity | Copper-clad steel | Standard |
Documents
- EN 10204 3.1 material certificate with the heat number and the measured values.
- EN 10204 3.2 where a third party witnesses — arranged before packing.
- Dimensional report for a named spool.
- EMF or resistance record for a named batch, retrieved by the number on the spool.
Records
Results are retained by batch number. A question about a delivery from months earlier is answered from the measurement taken at the time, rather than by re-testing a sample that may no longer represent the lot.
